The topics we covered are much broader and deeper than those found in a typical math curriculum. Besides developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in math, the program provides students with a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and exposes them to a variety of challenging math problems. This is the second course (B) of a two-course sequence Algebra under Competitive Math for gifted/high-achieving 7th-9th graders. It lasts for 18 sessions, with 2.5 hours in each session. Topics to be covered: Special Factorizations; Complex Numbers; Quadratric Equations -- Part 2; Graphing Quadratics; More Inequalities; Functions; Graphing Functions; Polynomials; Exponents & Logarithms; Special Functions; Sequences & Series; Special Manipulations
