Activity Details:

Throughout time, artists have used poster design as a vehicle for making their voices heard! In this class, teen artists will we’ll explore methods of printmaking while being exposed to socially conscious artists who have used the media to take a stand on important issues, from Shepard Fairey to Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. Students will learn the basic principles of relief printing (using EZ-cuts and linoleum), mono-printing (using plexi glass). The class will demonstrate these techniques and allow students the chance to practice and make multiples of their imagery to then create posters relaying messages incorporating typography and imagery. Each student will leave with his or her own portfolio of poster prints! 9-10AM DROP OFF:Check in. An hour of open activities before class. 10AM–4PM CLASS:Lunch break at 12 PM, supervised outdoor play. 4-5PM PICK UP:Parents check in before picking up. One hour of open activities after class. $25 late pickup fee after 5pm

How to Prepare / What to Bring: Campers must bring lunch, snacks, a water bottle and sunscreen. A refrigerator is available for storing lunch.
